Artistic approach

The chihuahua is the central figure in my work — a small, fragile presence navigating a world that often feels larger than itself. Though delicate in appearance, it carries an unexpected courage. Over time, this figure has increasingly become a reflection of my own inner landscape.

My practice is grounded in repetition, discipline, and long-term commitment. Returning to the same motif allows me to go deeper rather than wider — to observe evolution, nuance, and progress over time. The constraints of subject and repetition do not limit creativity; they intensify it.

I work intuitively, often drawing or painting to understand what I am feeling rather than to illustrate it. The process becomes a form of introspection — a dialogue between gesture and emotion, where discoveries eventually emerge. Through sustained engagement, the chihuahua becomes both subject and mirror — a fragile yet persistent figure through which emotion, resilience, and transformation can take shape.

I hope the work invites viewers into this space, allowing emotions to arise quietly, without instruction, and perhaps recognizing something of themselves within it.
